The Omkareshwara Temple was built by Lingarajendra II in the year 1820. One could find Mumammadan style architecture in the temple. It features a center dome and four corners with turrets.
Abbey falls is located around 8 km from Madikeri town. It is located between thick coffee plantation. There is a hanging bridge opposite to the falls.
Gaddige is Rajas’ tombs. It features the tombs of Dodda Virarjendra and Lingarajendra II built in 1820. The royal tombs provide a commanding view of the entire town. The tombs are Muhammadan style with center domes and turrets.
Talakaveri is the source of river Cauvery. It is located 45 km from Madikeri and near to Bhagmandala. The flow from the source is not visible all the time except during the rainy season. A tank or kundike has been erected on a hillside by kodavas, at the place that is said to be the origin. It is also marked by a small temple, and the area is frequented by pilgrims mainly it is the worship place of kodavas. The river originates as a spring feeding this tank, which is considered to be a holy place to bathe on special days.
Bhagmandala located on the streams of river Cauvery is a pilgrimage place of Coorg.
Bylekuppe is located near Kushalanagar. It is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in South India. It has several monasteries and the prominent among these are the Great Gompa of Sera Je and Sera Mey and the Namdroling monastery. The gold-coated Buddhist statues of the monastery reflects the unique, rich Tibetan heritage. Many prominent Budhist monks including Dalai Lama have visited the beautiful monastery.
This is another scenic spot of Kodagu located 15 km from Kushalnagar. It’s famous for its elephant training camp. Tourists gets an opportunity to ride on the elephants.
